Linda Dufurrena
Linda photographs the Great Basin landscape and the people who inhabit it. Her work hangs in the Nevada State Legislature, galleries, hotels and professional buildings throughout the west. She exhibits at the Great Basin gallery and the River Gallery in Reno, as well as her own gallery at the Dufurrena Ranch. Her work is currently on tour with the Basques of the Great Basin exhibit of the High Desert Museum in Bend, Oregon.

Carolyn Dufurrena
Geologist, amateur stargazer and freelance writer, Carolyn has a degree in Geology from University of Texas at Austin and Wellesley College. She has worked in corporate minerals and petroleum exploration, but now concentrates on teaching geography and writing at the middle school level, as well as field seminars in geology for d & d Adventures. She has been a freelance writer for 13 years, her subjects the people and the landscape of the West.

Linda Hussa Books
Lige Langston Sweet Iron

Western writer and poet Linda Hussa reflects on her ranching life in the Great Basin desert in her collections Ride the Silence, Where the Wind Lives, and Diary of a Cow Camp Cook. She has published work in several anthologies of Western poetry and has been a featured poet at the Cowboy Poetry gathering in Elko, where she won the first Maverick Scholarship in 1995, as well as reading at the Library of Congress in 1994. Her memoir of the life of Lige Langston is being published by University of Oklahoma Press She lives on a ranch in Cedarville, California with her rancher husband, amateur paleontologist John Hussa.
Sophie Sheppard
Sophie lives and paints in Surprise Valley, California, where her subjects are the wild places she explores with her archaeologist husband, Lynn. Sophie's work in oil and watercolor has been shown from San Francisco to Montana; her illustrations are published by the Black Rock Press, Northern Contours and other Western presses. She has studied at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris and has an M.A. from Central Washington University, and has taught at universities around the West.
